Tigers Edge Off-Season Program
The Tigers Edge Off-Season program
Hello Players and Parents:,
The Summer workout program is new to FYHA this Summer of 2025. The workout program is an off-season training program to allow all players the opportunity to further develop their individual skills. Please be patient as you read through the information, there is a lot to read through and understand. Some may seem common sense, but for this purpose, we believe over communication is better served.
Welcome to the Tigers Edge. The Tigers Edge is our off-season training experience sharing an opportunity for all players to have fun developing their hockey skills and overall athleticism away from the rink. We hope this programming (originally developed by the Ontario Minor Hockey Association) gives our players a fun and competitive opportunity to stay active in the off-season.
OBJECTIVE: The Tigers Edge will be an off-ice experience comprised of 2 programs for players and a program for goalies. The objective will be to complete the two programs during the period between June 9th and August 29th. Players can choose to complete one activity at a time until they reach their goal or complete activities concurrently. There is NO sign up for these activities. Submission of program paperwork upon completion is the requirement.
TIMING: Players have from 6/9/25 to 8/29/25 complete their activities. Players can use only the weeks allotted for the individual activities to be completed. Choosing a block of time and staying course is beneficial to create a habit, stay in routine and stay focused. That said, don’t turn this into a job, feel free to make a time frame work for your player and family.
AWARD: The first and most important award is becoming more athletic while getting noticeably better with your hockey skills! Second, each player that completes two activities at set levels and emails their completed documents to tigersedge@farmingtonhockey.org no later than September 5th. Each player will receive a Tigers Edge custom program completion sweatshirt. Lastly, the top four performers at each playing level that reach a minimum of 10,000 shots and 20,000 touches and top goaltender from each playing level that reaches a minimum of a 12-week goaltender challenge and 5,000 shots will have their name posted on a banner at the arena. Once program activities are competed, players name must be printed on the document and sent to the email tigersedge@farmingtonhockey.org Do not email any completed tracking sheets prior to August 30th. The Tigers Edge will be tracking results in order to award participants for their hard work. Players that complete two activities will receive a custom completion sweatshirt..
